The Department of Communications, together with the State Owned Entities under its tutelage, including the SABC hosted a Community Outreach Programme at Smashblock in the Thabazimbi Local Municipality, Limpopo Province, on the 12th September 2015.

As part of the entourage, the SABC exhibited at the stalls showcasing its capacity, readiness and opportunities including content development as well as employment opportunities that will come with the migration from analogue to DTT.
Representing the SABC was the Acting Provincial General Manager, Mr James Shikwambana and the GM: Operations, Corporate Affairs Division and the SABC DTT Project Owner, Mr Tseliso Ralitabo who gave a speech on behalf of the SABC Chief Operating Officer, Mr Hlaudi Motsoeneng.
To date there has been a series of these Imbizos hosted by the Department with the next one envisaged to take place at Mabopane in Pretoria, Gauteng on the 19th of September 2015. SABC News and Thobela FM were also present to give coverage.
