Presenter Jabi Matsoso shares an update on SABC Education’s Rivoningo broadcast Mondays to Fridays at 10h30 on SABC2.
“Rivoningo is a must for children aged four to nine but adults will have just as much fun watching! While sharing literacy and numeracy knowledge we also share fun activities. Our science experiments and life skills lessons are child friendly and our green kids campaign encourages being friendly to the environment. We have recently started a wonderful SABC Education initiative ‘I am a Reader’ that I’m personally excited about because I love reading. ‘I am a reader’ is a readers club that encourages kids to read more, we share books, ideas and reading tips.”

Sis’ Dora is a community dance worker and founder of Dorah’s Dancers, a group she established in 1994 in Soweto Meadowlands zone 10. Equipped with little more than passion for movement education, she embraced her inner self and began this group because she wanted to keep young kids off the streets. Through the years, Dorah has produced professional dancers and a few music artists. She works hand in hand with other experienced and well known people in the dusty streets of Ndofaya.
"This is the first time in the 65 year history of this very significant international youth conference that it will be held in Southern Africa, and that the conference will have a specific focus on issues relevant to youth from the African continent," says NYDA Executive Chairperson Andile Lungisa.
Matrics Uploaded is an SABC Education multimedia matric support intervention that seeks to provide support to learning areas of the grade 12 curriculum by integrating core curriculum content with an interactive game-show. The studio contestants and participating viewers stand a chance to win cool prizes. The show, supported by print materials, DVDs, web and mobile learning resources, helps learners to work through all their subjects with ease, at their own pace.
