Onverwacht community celebrate Madiba Day

Madiba magic is still going strong. Even though it was a couple of days late, the Cullinan Chamber of Commerce, the Living Land crew, SABC Education and the Gauteng North Fly Fishing Club came together on Saturday to give their 67 minutes for Mandela by cleaning the brook running through the land of the Onverwacht community.

Video streaming coming to Africa

LONDON, UK: Video streaming will be the next big wave of online content use in Africa. There are still considerable network challenges but... the level of existing use shows that once these issues are resolved, the volume of users will be in the millions. Russell Southwood spoke to the biggest player in the market, Google's YouTube. Elijah Kitaka explained how it sees the potential of video streaming being realised.

What Constitute an SA film?

The National Film and Video Foundation’s (NFVF’s) is in the process of finalising qualifying criteria for what constitutes a South African film based on a point system. These criteria will apply to local productions as well as official treaty co-productions. This process was initiated by the NFVF in 2009 and involved the international benchmarking of the film industries in Ireland, Canada, United Kingdom and Australia.

67 Minutes for Mandela

First Citizens from Auckland Park and the Gauteng province led by GE: Stakeholder Relations and Provinces Ms. Dudu Mwelase, heeded the call to go out and make a difference in celebration of Mandela's 94th Birthday in the community of Sebokeng, in Vaal, on the 18 July 2012. Sebokeng Hospital got more than a face lift it was longing for, by planting trees and painting the hospital, all thanks to the SABC in partnership with Dulux, Post Office, Avis and Riveria Vaal Country Club who celebrated Mandela Day.
