SABC hosted a Successful Radio Connect

The SABC’s radio management held the first ever Radio Connect on the 9th to the 10th of July 2019, which took place at Mount Grace in Magaliesburg.

The two day conference was a platform for big scale to medium advertisers to meet with 19 SABC Radio brands, discuss the developments in the radio advertising space, and showcase SABC Radio’s vision and purpose for Connect. Its other objectives were to build on customer centricity, collaboration and trust.

Clients were given an overview of the SABC’s future of radio, an insight of the SABC’s consumer influencing power, the pulse of real time reporting and moreover the importance of content and on how it’s curated.

The Radio Connect conference included clients fromFast Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG), advertising agency representatives, and clients from the banking, insurance and governments sectors.

Tiger Brands Marketing Channels and Media Director: Mr Vilma Frank highlighted that the engagement sessions were insightful and re-affirmed their faith in the SABC. “It’s clear that there is a plan to get the SABC back on track and the radio team is committed to improving and strengthening their ties with us as commercial partners.

I also appreciate that the two days focused on information sharing and engaging with us and did not make this an ‘indulgent’ event. The team was honest in explaining context, open to working closer with us and certainly gave me food for thought,” he explained.

SABC Commercial Enterprise General Manager Business Intelligence: Ms Cobie Van Jaarsveld highlighted that clients loved experiencing the power of radio, the power of sound and the power of SABC’s radio personalities.

“We connected with our clients about the power and value of radio so much that at the end of the conference they began to ask about the deal. That is the positivity of this conference and its effectiveness,” she said.
