In laying the foundation for a successful turnaround strategy, the Group Chief Executive Officer (GCEO), Mr Madoda Mxakwe met with the key advertisers. The high level engagement was facilitated by Commercial Enterprises and took place today, 26 July 2018 at the Protea Hotel Fire and Ice in Melrose Arch.
Speaking at the Advertising Industry Forum, Mr Mxakwe expressed his gratitude for the continuous support the SABC received from the industry over the years. “Going forward we are hoping that our relationship with you will continue to be open and transparent. As one of our most valued business partners, you feature strongly in our plans. We are coming up with innovative ways to turn the SABC around and we cannot do it without your coorporation and support.”
He assured them of the SABC’s commitment to renew and rebuild its brand. He also mentioned that following the stability at the top level, plans are underway to fill all group executive positions by end of August 2018. “This shows how serious we are about taking the SABC to greater heights. We are aligning all our resources in order to restore brand credibility as part of our commitment to reposition the SABC as a leading Public Services Broadcaster.” he said.
Spokesperson of the SABC, Mr Kaizer Kganyago was the Master of Ceremonies, and ensured seamless dialogue between SABC Management and the advertising community.
Also in attendance to support the GCEO was the GE: Commercial Enterprise, Mr Tshifhiwa Mulaudzi; Acting GE: Corporate Affairs, Mr Hosea Jiyane; Acting Head of Marketing, Mr Mfundo Ntsibande and senior management from Commercial Enterprises. The SABC’s sales team committed themselves to ensuring that their products and services will meet the clients’ needs at all times.
