Matric pass rate improved in KZN

The number of learners who passed increased from just over 93 000 to nearly 97 000. Head of the department, Nkosinathi Sishi says the province is still leading with the highest number of learners who pass matric in the country.

“This is an indication that the work done by our teachers and the support that we received particularly all our stakeholders is paying dividends.”

Sishi says: “We have not reached the point that reflects exactly our potential.  But we are encouraged by the increase. We feel that it is possible for us to reach the highest point that indicates the kind of potential that we can see evident in our schools.”
