How to manage a Feedlot

Feedlot Nutrition and Handling Nutrition

A characteristic of all living organisms is that they have to take in nutrients to survive (necessary for the basic functioning of the living body) and production. With livestock, production includes growth, pregnancy, lactation and fibre (wool) production, amongst others.

The study of nutrition in animals includes ingestion, digestion and absorption of nutrients, their transport to the body cells and the removal of waste products, including that part of the food that is not absorbed.
