New-look Living Land celebrates tenth series

640x360Celebrating its tenth series Living Land is set to kick-off the new season with a bang. Featuring a revamped approach and a dynamic new presenter, SABC Education is confident that this new series will meet and exceed the expectations of the show’s many followers.

Following nine successful series of Living Land on SABC2, series ten is scheduled to commence transmission on 24 June 2017. The weekly programme traditionally features all things agricultural in South Africa, with special focus on smallholders and emerging farmers, as well as rural development throughout the country.

SABC Education identified several key issues in planning for the new series. Public opinion gleaned from viewer opinion in letters, emails and social media messages have especially been used as a guide in this respect. The new series will shed light on a host of exciting new applicable technological advances in agriculture and will specifically feature exciting opportunities for young viewers – not only in farming, but also in associated activities like agro-processing, marketing, engineering and research.

Living Land’s new presenter, Dineo Lusenga, is a charming Wits University drama graduate, well known actor and radio presenter on 5fm. Dineo says “Apart from meeting the most amazing people and travelling to some of the most beautiful parts of our country, I am well aware that agriculture holds one of the vital keys to unlocking the wealth of our fabulous country”.

According to SABC Education commissioning editor Cookie Mona, loyal followers and new viewers of Living Land can look forward to a brand new programme structure and technical aspects that have been carefully refined with a view to producing an enjoyable and exciting new series that is rich in relevant information and educational content.

Don't miss the upcoming series of the popular weekly episodes of Living Land on SABC2, screened at 05:30 on Saturday mornings, to stay abreast of all the latest information and trends in the exciting world of South African agriculture.
